3 Benefits of a Business Blog

Why a business blog is better than just a website or social media post

In this episode of Blog Your Way to a Business Profit Podcast, I give you 3 benefits of a business blog and why a blog is better than a simple website.

The #1 question I get from business owners is, why do I need a blog? “We have a website and we also post on Facebook, Twitter and the Gram.”  Yes, however, a website is static – the information rarely changes therefore, you are not rising up in the search engines that the Google bots use to answer questions, and you should never build a business on a FREE platform, ie Facebook, Twitter and the Gram.

Blogging is a marketing tactic that uses blog posts or articles to get your business more online visibility. A business blog is another marketing channel like social media, direct mail, and email marketing which all helps support business growth.  However, with a blog, you own it and you can promote it to your readers using a newsletter and you have control over the distribution as opposed to the algorithms used on Facebook.

If prospective customers find answers to their common questions via blog posts written by people at your company, they’re much more likely to trust and view you as an expert even before they were interested in purchasing a product or service from you.

However, the best benefit of starting a business blog is that blog posts are ranking in search engines which means for days, weeks, months, and years to come, you can continue to get traffic and leads from that blog post.

Your return on investment (ROI) is therefore, much higher than Facebook or Twitter posts.
