5 Christmas Movie Classics

Every year, no matter what I always look forward watching these 5 Christmas Movie Classics, that never changes and neither does this blog post!

5 Christmas Movie Classics

# 1 – It’s a Wonderful Life

The story of George Bailey played by Jimmy Stewart wishing he had never been born is truly a timeless classic. However, when George meets Clarence the bumbling Angel trying to win his wings shows him what life would be like without him, there are some truly eye opening scenes.

And who can’t help but recite, “Every time a bell rings an Angel gets it’s wings.”

Scrooge 1951 Version

#2 – Scrooge – the 1951 version

This version of the Charles Dickens’ timeless classic is my all time favorite one. Alastair Sim’s performance in this black and white version is Scrooge at it’s best. Hubby and I can sit and watch this movie every night until Christmas!

A Christmas Story

#3 – Christmas Story

This is definitely a “will not miss” movie classic especially since it’s on for 24 hours on TBS and this year it actually started on Thanksgiving evening!

I love Ralphie sexual attraction to that leg lamp which is now a best seller on Amazon and at most major stores.

Oh, and I can only imagine how many kids put their tongue on a frozen pole to see if it actually stuck!

Miracle on 34th Street

#4 – Miracle on 34th Street – 1947

Christmas and of course Santa is on trial but the holiday spirit wins everyone over. I love when the mail is delivered to the courthouse addressed to Santa.  However, my favorite scene is the cane that sits in the middle of the empty room of Suzie’s new home, reminding us that the spirit of Christmas will always be a part of our lives.

“I BELIEVE I BELIEVE!’

The Perfect Holiday

#5 – The Perfect Holiday

Morris Chestnut plays an aspiring musician working as a mall Santa.  A young girl turns to this department store Santa in the hopes that he will help find a new husband for her divorced mother played by Gabrielle Union.  A definite tear-jerker.

Honorable mention:

Charlie Brown Christmas

Charlie Brown Christmas

It wouldn’t be Christmas without this timeless classic and the song around the tree gets me every time! This year I have my reminder set and tissues ready!
