I don’t know about you, but I always look forward to Amazon Prime Day because that’s when I fill up my cart and purchase far too many items including podcasting equipment, as if I need anymore, but that’s another story for another day.

 

Anywho, I love checking out all the deals and of course sharing them with you.  In this post I am sharing my favorite pieces of podcasting equipment, so if you are in search of anything, please feel free to ask me a question as I am using everything that I am promoting in this post.

Podcasting Microphone

The Shure MV7 Podcasting Mic is by far my favorite microphone, even when compared to the Blue Yeti microphone that I started using in 2017 and is now a paper weight!  I definitely noticed a difference in the sound quality when recording episodes of the Delaware Blogger Podcast as well as “Out & About with Antionette” podcast.

Podcasting Headphones

Last week I had to order a new set of headphones because my Koss pair broke and although they lasted several years, I knew that I wanted to try a different brand.  I will spend a lot on microphones, but on headphones….that’s a different story!  If you follow me on TikTok or YouTube, you would have seen me doing a quick unboxing of the Tascam TH-02 Closed Back Studio Headphones.

What I love it the comfortability of these headsets which I didn’t realize I was missing with my previous pair.

TASCAM Specs

• Foldable design for easy, compact transport
• Tightly-stitched, padded headband and ear pads for stylish comfort
• Closed-back dynamic design with clean sound, rich bass response and crisp highs
• Snap-on 1/8” (3.5 millimeter) to 1/4” (6.3 millimeter) adapter

 

Microphone Isolation Shield

 The microphone isolation shield is also a piece of podcasting equipment that is a staple and sits on my desk in front of my Shure Microphone.  I had a smaller shield which was great, however, when hubby purchased this larger one, I figured it was best to use it instead.  

This high density sound absorbing foam shield is placed behind your mic and is great especially if you don’t have padded walls with Acoustic Tiles like the ones installed at Blake’s Booth Podcasting Studio at H.O.M.E. in Middletown, Delaware.  If you are looking to rent a podcasting studio make sure to check out Blake’s Booth for rental rates and availability.

Isolation Shield Specs

• Dual clamp mount attaches to mic stands or booms up to 1.25″ diameter.
• Features a standard 3/8″ microphone threaded mount and includes a 3/8″ to 5/8″ thread adapter
• Measures about 17.3″ x 15.4″ x 5.5″ when folded for storage
• Acoustic foam front and vented metal back plate. The two outer panels can be folded inward for storage or for creating a tighter acoustic isolation chamber.

 

 Boom Arm/Shock Mount Windscreen/Pop Filter

I previously used a table top mic stand with a pop filter, however, I like the mountable Boom Arm with Pop filter better because it gives more flexibility if I prefer to stand up while recording.  Standing while recording gives your more freedom to move your arms, if you like to talk with your hands and you won’t inadvertently hit the mic.

It also works with all types of mics, including the Shure MV7 and is portable enough that it can be taken with you as I did when I hosted the TEDx Wilmington podcast interviews in April.

Specs for Boom Arm Accessories

• Shock Mount: Please noted the shock mount is not fit for Blue Yeti.  It is made of high-quality material and can protect the microphone all-around with high rubber rope design which makes the microphone more convenient to install and prevent it from falling. The shock mount has a hole diameter of 52mm, which is slightly larger than others.
• Heavy-duty Structure Mic Stand: The extra strong spring of the boom arm prevents the microphone from accidental dropping, noise generation and shaking. It has a table mounting clamp and protective layers of sponge. An adjustable positioning screw can easily clip to any desktop with a thickness of 2″.
