Tacos Made With Jennie-O Taco Seasonings Turkey Sausage

Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on Saturday and many will be heading out for Mexican Cuisine and Margaritas, however, in my house we have tacos on a regular basis.  As a matter of fact tacos made any day has become one of our favorite mid-week meals made even more special with Jennie-O Taco Seasonings Turkey Sausage.

Jennie-O Taco Seasonings Turkey Sausage is all natural with no artificial preservatives, no added hormones or steroids.  When using Jennie-O Taco Seasonings Turkey Sausage there is no need to add a separate package of seasoning mix which is definitely a time and money saver.

This lean ground turkey is pre-seasoned with just the right amount of spices; tastes great and only contains 9g fat much less than regular ground beef which is why it’s has become a staple in my kitchen.

I always pour in a little Extra Virgin Olive Oil before adding the Jennie-O Taco Seasoned Ground Turkey to the pre-heated pan then cook it until it’s no longer pink with an internal temperature of 165 degrees.  I also use a wooden spatula to break up the ground turkey as it cooks.

Once done, we put a few scoops of it into a Taco Boat then top it with diced onions, fresh cherry tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese and diced avocados.  I also like to sprinkle mine with a little hot sauce because you know I like it spicy!

You can add extras like shredded lettuce, sour cream or even diced jalapeno peppers and wrap in a tortilla, or add it to a hard Taco shell, but we like the Taco boats better.

  1. Good morning and Happy Sunday dear Del. Thanks for this recipe that looks delicious and I will try it with my kids. Turkey meat is way more healthy than cow’s one. Arrivederci!

  2. Cinco de Mayo is Michelle’s birthday and she tries to avoid eating Mexican foods. However, we have taco night several times a month. I top mine with shredded cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, and hot sauce! Yum!!!
