Slow Cooked Beef Brisket

It has been a long time since my last Friday Foodie Feature and this one is actually from my previous blog, but I wanted to share it over here as well.

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day especially if you are cooking at home, why not try this version of a Slow Cooked Beef Brisket?

Place brisket in resealable bag rubbed with South African Smoke seasoning, refrigerate overnight or for at least 3 hours.

Sprinkle brisket with seasoning and place in resealable bag

Coat inside of Crock Pot with a cooking spray for easier cleanup.  Pour in Liquid Smoke and water, then add the brisket.

pour in liquid smoke and water, then add brisket

Pour in an entire bottle of Barbecue sauce, add onions and potatoes, cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours depending on the model of your Crock Pot.

I sauteed a little cabbage in Olive Oil sprinkled with pepper to complete this end of the winter meal.

This delicious dinner for 4 was plenty with leftovers for the next day. The tender Beef Brisket was shredded and used to make Tex Mex Burritos.

  1. Good morning dear Del. I just finished ordering my biweekly delivery from Publix supermarket through Instacart and I wanted to include some easy to prepare burgers. Instead of ordering the Buba classics I ordered the more healthy alternative of Jenn-O turkey burgers ( you suddenly appeared in my mind scolding me like a big sister does)
    Un baccione. Arrivederci!

  2. Ooh, it’s been a while since I’ve had a good beef brisket! I’ve been watching my meat intake but this looks soo good.

  3. I love your glazed version, it is such a change of pace from typical Corned Beef! I bet it smells and tastes yummy! Pinned!!

Is the grinder of smoke seasoning from TJ’s? Looks like a great rub seasoning!

    1. Oops, didn’t answer your question about the seasoning, but no, we don’t have a TJ’s and I can’t remember where purchased, but they no longer have an active website – boohoo!
