If you have been following my blog for awhile then you know that I love creating and recreating Crock Pot meals and this was one of my favorite holiday treats when the boys were young.
So in celebration of the 1st day of Winter I decided to repost this Slow Cooked Candy – Chocolate Peanut Clusters recipe which was first posted on DeDivahDeals.com blog as part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias.
Holidays and sweet treats go hand in hand just as a Crock Pots and easy breezy cooking does. When family and friends gather together for potlucks and parties it should be stress-free and fun. So here’s a quick and easy sweet treat that you can make using Planters Peanuts or any other nuts of your choosing and chocolate chips for your next holiday gathering.
With this recipe you’ll need only two ingredients which was Planters Nuts (or any of your choosing) and 2 bags of chocolate chips. I chose to mix dark and white chips, and as stated you can use any seasonal nuts but for this post I used the Winter Spiced Mix because it included a variety of nuts including Honey Roasted Peanuts, Almonds, Honey Roasted Sesame Sticks , Cashews and Pecans.
Easy breezy instructions which makes it fun for the entire family to participate and it creates awesome memories for when your kids grow up like mine!
Pour the mixed peanuts into slow cooker, layer chocolate chips over the peanuts; pour another layer of peanuts over the chips; layer white chips over the peanuts; top with remaining nuts.
Depending on your Crock Pot, cook on low for 2 hours before stirring to mix evenly. Line baking sheets or trays with parchment or wax paper. Scoop out spoonfuls of the peanut mixture onto the prepared baking sheets. Place the candy in refrigerator until they harden, cover and then store in a cool place.
These treats are perfect for family and friend gatherings and if there are any leftovers you can simply wrap and place them in the freezer until New Years!
