Today’s podcast topic, Starting a Money Making Blog with a 9-5 may seem a little dated, because really who is still working a 9-5? If you are working remotely from home your days may not begin at 9, nor do they end at 5, but you get the jest of it.

Actually with so many people working remotely they have found time to build a side gig and blogging is a perfect business to pursue especially if you enjoy writing and sharing content.

I have been blogging since 2012, my first blog was DeDivahDeals.com Fashion and Fun after Fifty and then in 2013 I started teaching others how to blog and back then the stats were a lot different than today, but think about these stats:

• Blogs have been rated as the fifth most trusted source for accurate online information.
• Blogging grew from 14 million blogs in 2005 to more than 500 million in 2019.
• Marketers who have prioritized blogging (related to content) are 13 times more likely to enjoy positive ROI.
• The more an individual visits a specific blog, the more likely they are to take action or purchase.

To make all of this plain and simple for you…Blogging isn’t going anywhere — in fact it’s growing and with that the opportunity to cash in is better than ever.

Why Should You Start a Blog?

There are many reasons why you should start a blog. Perhaps you fall under some of these reasons below, or all of these reasons, maybe none of them but whatever the case, I ask that you read on and leave a comment below.

1. You were meant for something more

You know that you have information and you want to share it, you feel as though you were meant for something more than just a 9-5 job. A lot of people start a blog because they want to start making money on the side and once they start it becomes a catalyst for which they can quit their jobs and make a full-time income by working from home.

2. It’s beneficial branding and marketing

Blogging can help you build a loyal audience and when you open yourself up to that, many positive things follow. 

You can turn your blog posts into a book and command a much better deal from a publisher because you have a built in following. 

If you want to get more speaking gigs, blogging is a great way to gain more exposure. If you want to expand your Coaching Business with Webinars, blogging is an great tool to scale your business.

Blogging allows you to meet and connect with thousands, if not millions of people that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to connect with without a blog.

3. You want to speak your mind

Blogging allows you to talk about what was important to you and by sharing this content you may be persuading others to your way of thinking, being, acting or even purchasing products and services.

But be careful with your content because if you want your blog to become a business you will want to stay away from topics that alienate your audience so don’t do too much ranting on your blog. 

Steps to Starting a Money-Making Blog
