I have been working from home for over a year now, however, during that time, I’ve moved from having a home office in Middletown, to a quasi home office (actually a folding table in a kitchen) in an apartment in Bear to now an office in our “Forever Home” in Smyrna.
Moving and adjusting to a new home with new office space can be chaotic but I am finally able to maintain a working from home routine that fits my lifestyle and works best for me.
Working From Home Routine
Get up and get dressed – I don’t work in my jammies so even if I am not meeting with clients I get dressed, put on makeup and do my hair.
Read Bible Scriptures, pray and write in Gratitude Journal – Although I am a Social Media Manager/Strategist I never start my day on social, instead I start with scriptures to arm myself for what’s to come.
Drink glass of lemon water – drinking lemon water jump starts my digestive system and keeps my insides cleansed.
Coffee and breakfast – I used to skip breakfast when I worked a 9-5, but now I am able to enjoy a small breakfast that not only fuels my body but also my brain.
Take mid-day break – After reading and answering emails; checking my client’s social media platforms and responding I need to get up and take a break so I’ll walk out of my office for a change of scenery.
Eat lunch – While out and about, I will make a small salad or bowl of soup with a glass of water before getting back to work.
Exercise– I try to end my day between 6 and 7 pm, so that I can change into fitness gear and ride the Stationary Bike for 60 minutes.
“Clock Out” and spend time with family.
This working from home routine works for me and if you have something similar, please feel free to share it here then head over to this week’s Traffic Jam Weekend Linky Party to share something there.
