Brandi Johnson, a newly published author, The P.O.W.E.R That Sets Burn Victims Free is a burn survivor, infant mortality expert, motivational speaker and President of Bea’u Culture. At 18 months old, Johnson suffered third degree burns after a hot water accident inside her Pittsburgh home. She barely survived. The traumatic incident led to years of depression, sleeping disorders, anxiety and PTSD. As a young woman, Johnson began a self-awareness journey which led to a path of empowerment and confidence.
Today, she uses her voice as well as Bea’u Culture to inspire other burn survivors to rise up through the healing process. Her Pittsburgh-based company offers inspirational t-shirts that represent, “being who you are is your first culture.” As an infant mortality expert with Healthy Start, Inc., Johnson also offers this encouragement and support to new mothers who face mental health challenges. Her mission is to help reduce the rising infant mortality rate by providing women with safety education and mental health assessments during the pregnancy process.
