Harnessing Podcasting’s Power for Branding and Enduring Audience Connections
I had the honor and privilege of being a guest on The Sharvette Mitchell Show speaking on the power of podcasting. Needless to say, it was a great interview and I invite you all to take a listen and then follow Sharvette as she has had some other amazing guests throughout the years.
Sharvette is an excellent radio and podcast host who has for many years interviewed some award winning guests, so when she invited me onto her platform to share my journey as a podcast host and coach I was more than excited to do so.
During our conversation, we reminisced about the nerves and thrills of hosting live shows, discussed content ownership, and highlighted the longevity and brand strategy benefits of podcasts. I also shared some insights on the minimal costs and time investment needed to start podcasting, notably mentioning platforms like Buzzsprout and Spotify for Podcasters. With a small time commitment and minimal out-of-pocket expenses, anyone can dive into the world of podcasting. We also discussed the importance of not investing in expensive equipment initially – you might be surprised at how well your smartphone’s recording capabilities can perform.
One of the most touching parts of our dialogue was when we talked about legacy and personal motivations. I shared how my journey into podcasting partly stemmed from wanting to leave a legacy, especially after the tragic loss of my sister in a car accident in 1992. Podcasting has given me a platform to share my gifts, connect deeply with my audience, and hopefully leave a lasting impact.
We touched on personal moments too, such as my 34th wedding anniversary, and emphasized the importance of gratitude and staying connected with positive people. Sharvette and I truly believe in the unique connection podcasts create with audiences and their power to leave a legacy.
Sharvette and I truly believe in the power of podcasts to create a unique bond with audiences. We even discussed the potential for using podcasts in corporate settings, turning team meetings and discussions into easily accessible private podcasts.
We wrapped up by emphasizing the importance of considering podcasting, whether you want to start your own or be a guest on someone else’s as I was on hers. So, go grab yourself a cup of your favorite beverage and take a listen. Make sure to let me know what you think by leaving a comment below and share with others!
