Today’s post is going to be a bit different than my normal “Wellness Wednesday” post but it aligns with my Midlife Mantra, when you wake up looking up everything else is gravy baby!
Monday Morning Ritual with Rain & Tears
Monday morning as I looked out the window watching the rain fall, the tears in my eyes followed suit. Nothing bad had occurred at least not in my life, but the thought of leaving our home of 26 years was beginning to sink in.
You see, we are finally downsizing and moving to our Forever Home in the fall, but because our current home sold so quickly we have to move into an apartment for several months and that was making me sad. However, that’s a different story for another day.
After my morning ritual of reading The Daily Bread, Bible Scriptures and writing in my Gratitude Journal I picked up my phone to check emails and text messages. Normally, when people send me messages via video clips I delete them, as I am overly cautious about spam and malware.
Anywho, there was one that peaked my interest so out of the norm, I clicked on it and am glad that I did because when you wake up looking up, everything else is gravy baby!
Take Me Home
The video was a clip of a newly released song , “Take Me Home” by Terretta Storm. As I watched the video which was shot here in Wilmington, Delaware the tears began to flow more freely.
Terretta’s Storm
According to here manager, Kevin Hawkes, Terretta Storm has been hospitalized since June 14th. She was involved in a vehicle/pedestrian accident not long after a show. She was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by a car. She had to be revived at the scene through CPR.
She has been unconscious since but within the last few days she is beginning to show signs of waking up. She is opening her eyes periodically and trying to move her arms and legs. Still not fully awake but we are encouraged that there is hope for a full recovery.
She took a terrible blow to the head so we know that she has a road to travel to get back to herself. Not long before her injury I was blessed to get Terretta signed to record deal to release this single with White Lion Audio.
When they heard about the accident they contacted and asked me what I wanted to do. Knowing Terretta she would want me to move forward with the release. They have been very supportive through this process. So now myself, her family and band are more determined than ever to bring this talented lady’s music to the masses!
ALL proceeds from this venture will be donated to Terretta and her children to assist in any expenses that she may have while she recovers. We are also planning a fundraiser where local bands will come out and play, CD’s, merch will be sold. All proceeds from this will be donated to Terretta as well.
I invite you all to watch the video, share with your friends and if you can support Terretta Storm as she struggles to “wake up looking up”!
All of Terretta Storm’s music has a message, when you hear her music she speaks of struggle, redemption, empowerment. And with her cross-over appeal she has become very accessible to all different types of people. Below are links to the video, social sites and anything that is Terretta Storm.

Oh My God! I had no idea this had happened. I am currently dealing with the death of my father, but I will pre-order soon. I’ve loved her music since I first heard it earlier this year, as she is an associate/friend of GhettoSongBird who I’ve known & supported almost 15 years. Prayers & Blessings for continued healing.
So sorry to hear about the death of your father. May God provide you with the strength you will need during this time. Thank you for reading, commenting and supporting Sending up prayers!
Thank you so much for this article
Thank you for sharing Terretta’s story with us!
We don’t think about the future too much in terms of retirement and pension and how will balance out financially in the years of our youth. It’s only when you hitch your mid-40s or early 50s you start to slowly but surely over analyze those thoughts. Occasionally, you look back at how far you’ve came or how many mistakes you made versus how much progress you achieve. The good news is… Positive thinking and moving forward by doing the transformation business work and looking to the future helps make the future look much brighter and predictable.
Just stopped by real quick for New York minute to check up on you and see how you’re doing. Hope all is well. And yeah, Facebook disabled my page again for posting something political against “you know who.” I’ll be back again. L 🙂 L
Thank you for stopping in, I wondered where you were! I guess I am going to have to “put some money on your books” to keep you online out of Facebook jail!
I was using a speech recognition program to write the blog comment above and have a few typos above. Forgive me. I didn’t proofread it before publishing. 🙂
No worries – technology is great when it works!!!
This is my first time hearing about Terretta Storm. I’m so sorry that she was in an accident. I pray for her speedy and full recovery!
Yes, neither had I until her publicist reached out to me. Life is so precious, and each day is a gift.
