Brunch to Boardroom: Empowering Women at Delaware State University

On Sunday, March 16th, 2025, Delaware State University’s MLK Jr. Student Center transformed into a hub of female empowerment at “The Power to Lead Brunch.” Hosted by the dynamic Asya Jones & Dontia Brown, and presented by the Office of Career Services in partnership with Bank of America, this exclusive gathering was a resounding success, bringing together dynamic female professionals and stellar female scholars for a morning of networking, inspiration, and meaningful connections.

The event, aptly themed “From Brunch to Boardroom,” highlighted the pivotal role of connection in shaping career growth and leadership. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the buzz of engaging conversations and the shared ambition of women eager to support and uplift one another.

Attendees enjoyed a delicious brunch while forging valuable relationships. The 2nd floor parlors of the MLK Jr. Student Center provided the perfect setting for this intimate and empowering gathering and a visual feast with delectable brunch items like grits and shrimp, scrambled eggs, waffles, pancakes, and refreshing beverages and fresh fruits catered by Scraped The Plate.

The vision behind “The Power to Lead Brunch” was clear: to create a space where ambitious women could exchange ideas, foster collaborations, and build lasting relationships., and that’s exactly what happened. The room was filled with a diverse array of professionals across various industries, alongside the bright minds of Delaware State University’s female scholars.
