On Father’s Day Sunday, my son and I had an opportunity to attend Smyrna Center for Diversity’s Second Annual Juneteenth Celebration held at George C. Wright, Jr. Municipal Park.
He and I had a great day, dancing, mixing and mingling with the various vendors in attendance. My Soror, Dr. Corrine Upshur and her team did a fantastic job and she wanted to publicly thank everyone who came out in support.
Thank you to everyone who came out on Sunday, June 18th to celebrate the Smyrna Center for Diversity’s Second Annual Juneteenth Celebration.
Smyrna’s Vice-Mayor Mike Rasmussen gave greetings as well as Milford’s Mayor Archie Campbell and Councilman Andre’ Boggerty gave greetings and shared what Juneteenth means to him.
It was a day full of history, music, dancing, praise, face painting, moon bouncing with food trucks and desserts as well as other goods were sold.
Most importantly, we provided health and social services information from local resources and had an opportunity to celebrate and commune with each other.
Looking forward to seeing you next year!!!
