Mother's-Day-Card-Giveaway

Mother’s Day Greeting Cards Giveaway

If you have been following me for a while, then you know that Mother’s Day is bittersweet for me.  Yes, I have two amazing sons, however, hubby and I are both adult orphans.

We each lost our mothers and grandmothers many years ago, however, their memories will always linger on.  One of the things that I remember my grandmother teaching me and then I taught my sons was to take time to say “Thank you” and not always with verbal words, but sometimes with written words.

There are racks and racks of cards in most retail stores, but sometimes the sentiments are not what is in your heart which is why I like purchasing personalized cards where the words from my heart are written onto a card for the recipient.

My friend, Esther Rich, who I lovingly call, “Big Sis” is the creative designer of Special Touch Card Creations and she has offered to provide me with a sample pack of cards for a Mother’s Day Giveaway Contest for one of my lucky readers.

Before I show you the Prize Packet of cards, let me tell you a little bit about Esther.

Hello, my name is Esther Rich and I grew up in a blue color family and had never heard of the word Entrepreneur in my household. The only crafty projects I ever did growing up was to learn how to sew making a few dresses.  In 2001 I purchased my 1st computer which is when my interest started with making cards and scrapbooking.  I was making  greeting cards, business cards, wedding invitations, birthday invitations and flyers.  I planned on becoming my family’s 1st Entrepreneur.  Once retired in 2005 my goal was to begin my own stationary company but it ended up being a hobby more than a business.

In 2011 until 2016 I joined two different network marketing businesses and found out very quickly that working for someone else was definitely not my passion.

I attended a life changing workshop in May of 2016 on how to be a successful Entrepreneur. I left that workshop with more clarity than I had felt in a long time about my life and it totally changed my life.  After talking to my husband, Paul he said, why don’t you start your own greeting card business, you know how much you love making cards and that’s really my passion.

In August 2016, Special Touch Card Creations, Your One-Of-A-Kind Greeting was launched at the Women in Networking Event given by the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce. I am the Creative Card Designer, designing and creating beautiful greeting cards, personalizing them for my customers so that their intended receiver is being given a greeting card that they will treasure as a keepsake.

Upon celebrating my 1-year anniversary in 2017, I began realizing that personalized greeting cards are just one piece of what I can design and create.  I have begun designing unique one-of-a-kind thank-you cards for many business owners who would like to express their gratitude to their customers and clients for doing business with them.

I am now serving as the Ambassador Chairwomen for 2018 and was chosen as the first African American women, Ambassador of the Year for 2018.  The National Coalition of 100 Black Women launched their Dover Chapter and asked me if they could publish my picture and biography in their first publication, The State Of Our Union: Black Women and Girls in Delaware.

One of my favorite quotes— “Find joy in the journey!

  1. I have never either received nor sent a personalized card. And there he been so many times (especially with friends fighting cancer) that I have wished for such a service – except I get tongue-tied in thinking of something to say.

    1. Yes, Alana it can be very difficult – I remember when hubby was first diagnosed, I was not sure what to say, but as time progressed I’ve learned to to listen more and speak less.

  2. I am all for handmade/personalized cards because it makes the sentiment more meaningful. I love Esther’s background story and her designs are beautiful!

  3. Congrats to your Big Sis Esther in taking her talents to the top. I love her cards but my Mom has told us not to bring cards, clothes or trinkets. She only wants $$ from now on. . LOL

  4. I think it’s so nice to send a card in the mail and makes it special. Seems like everybody just emails these days and it’s not so personal.

    1. Yes, emails and text messages are fine in most instances, but every once in a while we need to take time to send a personalized letter or card – especially to those we love. Thank you Joan.
