Shop Goodwill for Holiday Goodies

The holiday season is in full swing which means there are lots of parties, school plays, festive decorations and family gatherings. It can be overwhelming both to your schedule and to your budget and if you are anything like me, purchasing a new dress or complete outfit for a single event is out of the question.

Making a purchase from Goodwill not only helps your budget but it also helps to fund job creation in your community and donating to a local Goodwill provides a wonderful opportunity to give back and declutter your closets.

I stopped in at a local Goodwill in search of an outfit for a house party that hubby and I will be attending next week.  I found a few pieces, and I liked the Ralph Lauren Cocktail Dress the best, which one do you like?

What I Wore Wednesday – Warm Winter OOTD

Wow, what a winter…it has been so extremely mild that either we are in store for a major snow storm or an early spring – I vote for the latter.
Warm Winter Wardrobe
The weather was mild enough that I was able to step outside without a coat, although not for an extended period of time long enough to get some fresh air.
Global Warming is argued by many, but you have to admit that we have been experiencing some freaky weather conditions around the globe. Excessive rain, tornadoes, snow in states that don’t normally get snow and no snow in states that should be covered in the white stuff.
These Blue Suede Shoes are a pair of my favorites, but definitely, cannot be worn in the rain or snow.  The knit skirt and plaid blouse are both from Walmart #WearWalmart and the belt was thrifted from Goodwill.

I decided to wear gold chain necklace and bracelet both from Avon to coordinate with the gold chain belt.

The blue purse with gold studs also has my Sorority’s letters on it.  It was a purchase from a vendor who sold Greek paraphernalia at an event that I attended last year.

As you can see, I am wearing Taupe color pantyhose which is not my favorite color, however, didn’t think off black would have looked good.  What do you think?

What I Wore Wednesday – Fashion after Fifty

Wow what a weekend, in Delaware and in several surrounding states we were hit with the first snow storm of the season!  However, just the day before as I stood on the back deck it was a perfectly dry day and the grass was green, not yet blanketed by three inches of snow.

Both the faux snakeskin blazer and red cowl neck top were thrifted from Goodwill several years ago.  I have several black pencil skirts and wearing this one with textured tights and faux suede boots completed the outfit.
These faux suede boots were purchased from Rugged Wearhouse and I really need to check them out as they always have some great deals on their shoes.

Check out the post from Saturday and you will see what the back deck looked like after the weekend’s snowstorm.  Fortunately, according to meteorologist, tomorrow the temps are supposed to rise to 60 degrees so it will be clear once again.
The rings on my right hand are both from Avon, which by the way I am no longer selling because my time has really become precious.
