I can still remember years ago when businesses were supposed to become a “paperless society”.  They were going to be printing less and storing more on computers and floppy discs, yes, old school I know.

However, here it is almost 25 years later and we are still using just as much if not more paper and are storing mass quantities of data now more than ever before.  Unfortunately, with fewer personnel on site and in the offices, businesses today have to engage the services of others in order to protect and store their much needed data.

One of those companies is Profisee, a leading modern data management technology company that makes it easy, affordable and accessible, to provide a trusted data foundation across your entire business or enterprise.

Did you get a new smartphone for the holidays?  If you didn’t and are in the market for one you might want to check out the Google Pixel 2 XL.

Google-Pixel-2-XL

You may remember this blog post review for a previous model of the Google Pixel Smartphone from Verizon Wireless.  Well recently I had another opportunity to check out the newer version, the Google Pixel 2 XL, and I love this model even more!

Not only did I love the style, sleekness, widescreen and long battery life, I loved having the Google Assistant in the palm of my hands who not only helped me organize my day but also kept me aware of the weather and road conditions with just a simple side squeeze that works even when the phone in a locked status.

However, along with taking fantastic pictures in any light and the ability to quickly order gifts and gadgets using the Geek App I also loved the brilliance and clarity of the videos.

While reading the Sunday paper, I came across an article by Elizabeth Weise, entitled 15-minute inventory video is good insurance” and decided to make a digital diary and upload it to YouTube.  God forbid, if we ever lose all of our belongings in natural or not so natural disaster, I will at least have a video inventory of our home’s contents!

I still think about and pray for those affected by the hurricanes, wildfires and now mudslides!

The Google Pixel 2 XL is the highest rated smartphone camera that takes beautiful photos in any light and had a fast-charging battery.  The back of the Pixel 2 XL is a mixture of glass and aluminum.

The aluminum is covered with a coating that gives it a blackboard-like feel; resistive, grippier and slightly textured. It’s an excellent finish and gives you a sturdier grip than on most other smartphones. The Google Pixel 2 XL is 6 inches, and the screen on the Pixel 2 XL is the biggest on a Google-branded handset.

Turkey Time!

Completed Turkey Dinner

Disclosure:  As a member of Switch Circle for Jennie-O, I receive products throughout the year to review, however, all opinions are 100% my own.

It’s Turkey Time!!!!  Yes, can you believe that Thanksgiving is only 23 days away?  I don’t know about you, but in our home, we no longer prepare large family dinners, especially since it’s only hubby and my two mini-men.

I do, however, miss the big family gatherings that we once had, but now prefer a much calmer day without having to spend a lot of time in the kitchen nor spend a lot of money preparing a large meal which makes the Jennie-O Oven Ready, No Thawing Boneless Turkey Breast a perfect option for us.

A 2-3 pound Jennie-O Oven Ready Turkey Breasts is more than enough for a full meal, however, I must admit it’s not enough for leftovers so if you like eating Turkey Sandwiches or making Turkey soup, then you should get a  Jennie-O Turkey Whole Turkey which I made last year.

It is easy to prepare and you don’t have to worry about having enough room in the freezer, or oven which will give you plenty of room to make baked potatoes or any other side dish or dessert that you wish to bake.

Easy Thanksgiving meal ingredients

I always cook collards or kale as our vegetable of choice and if you watch this video you’ll see how I like to make my kale.

Follow the easy step by step instructions on the back of the package and your Thanksgiving meal or Sunday dinner will be ready in under 2 hours.  The package of frozen gravy should be placed in the refrigerator while the turkey cooks and then add some of the drippings to make a delicious covering for your turkey or potatoes.

Oh, and you can even Slow Cook the Jennie-O Oven Ready Turkey Breast which I may try the next time.

Slow Cooked Beans & Jennie-O Smoked Turkey Kielbasa

Disclosure:  As a member of the Jennie-O Switch Circle, I receive products throughout the year in exchange for honest reviews.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Happy 1st day of Autumn, I hope you have smoothly transitioned back into the back to school routine.  Whether you have kids or grandkids in school or college or if you are just back on the road with the school buses, I hope all is well.

As I write this post, you would have thought it was mid-October and not the end of the summer because of the cooler weather.  However, the one thing that I did miss during the warmer, longer days of summer were the heart healthy meals that I prepare in the Crock Pot in the fall.

Thanks to Jennie-O, who in my opinion has some amazing products including Turkey Burgers and Turkey Tenderloins and of course this lean Smoked Turkey Kielbasa (sausage) which is perfect for the slow cooker.

Jennie-O Smoked Turkey Sausage

Dad’s Day Gift – Time Well Spent with the Family

Disclosure:  I was provided with the Motorola Moto 360 Smartwatch (2nd Gen) from Verizon Wireless in order to facilitate this review, all opinions are 100% my own.  I appreciate your support of my blog and that of the brands that I love.

For years, Father’s Day received the short end of the stick when it came to holidays.  It wasn’t as hyped as Mother’s Day and retailers oftentimes advertised some really boring gifts.  If you remember back in the day it was mainly ties, tools, cologne, and the old standby “soap on the rope!”

However, Dad’s Day has become a much better holiday with us spending more time with him and the gift options have definitely improved.

I often look back on the pictures of my sons with their father and think just how blessed I am to have them in my life.  When our youngest son is away at college and our oldest working almost daily, spending time together as a family is very important and it is time well spent.

The Motorola Moto 360 Watch is wearable technology that allows hubby to sync his iPhone 5 to stay in touch via text or keep an eye on the location of Malik’s whereabouts.  He can also keep up with his daily fitness levels by downloading the Moto Body app and can check his steps without having to carry his phone.

With the Motorola Moto 360, hubby can get email and text notifications, news and traffic reports and simply stay connected without having to constantly check his phone.

The Motorola Moto 360 is also available in women’s collections, and I am currently wearing the one below.  Next week I’ll be back to tell you more about it but so far I am loving it.

When the Moto 360 is fully charged the battery life lasts about a full day which is great but you may lose some battery life if like me are constantly getting and checking social media notifications.

You can, however, leave it in the Qi stand for about 35 minutes to return it to a full charge.  It’s not a bulky watch and hubby found it to be comfortable.  The only drawback are the customized options; there are limitations with his iPhone due to the propriety nature of Apple and their Apple Watch technology which is another reason why I love being #TeamAndroid

However, all in all, for the price, the Motorola Moto 360 Smartwatch is a nice addition to hubby’s valet and he will think of his sons and Father’s Day each time he looks down at his wrist!

I am wishing a Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!

Let’s Chat:  what do you think was the worst Father’s Day gift?
