Are you looking for a partnership that will transform lives?
Yesterday I had the chance to check out the new YWCA in Bear-Glasgow and I was blown away! This state-of-the-art facility is all about giving back to the community and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. I was there as an invite from Angela Henry, a member of the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce and CEO of MyFloorGuySupply and there were plenty of other members present as well. We were treated to a delicious breakfast spread of coffee, juice, bagels, donuts, biscuits and gravy, fruit and breakfast bars- it was a great way to start the day!
As you know, the YMCA is known for exercise and healthy living, but the Bear-Glasgow YMCA offers so much more in terms of charitable community outreach and support. They offer school-age programs and camp for many children who are at-risk and families who rely on the YMCA for financial assistance; teen programs, including Workforce Development and college readiness, health improvement services for individuals with chronic diseases and adaptive fitness services for individuals with diverse abilities.
Their Fall Family Festival and Trunk or Treat is the signature event for raising funds to maintain their community outreach activities and impact the families and youth in their community. Last year, more than 2800 people attended, and they are asking for support in terms of sponsorship. So if you wish to assist, please connect with Terry Mullan or Denise Fitzpatrick to learn more.
The YMCA is committed to serving everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, Faith, ability level, income, or background, and ALL MEMBERS of the community have an opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. The YMCA is the largest provider of healthy living programs in the state, they support families and individuals of all ages and abilities in their pursuit of a healthy life.
Their Diabetes Prevention Program is an evidence-based program that utilizes best practices and works to prevent chronic disease.
The YMCA is an inclusive organization open to all. They believe that in a diverse world. “We are stronger when we are inclusive. When our doors are open to all, everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Our Open Doors Financial Assistance Program, enables every child, family, and individual to become a member of the Y or benefit from the community-based programs.
The YMCA of Delaware, is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization and donations are tax-deductible for the fullest extent permitted by law.
