The 5 Reasons Why You Should Use Images in Your Blog Post

In Episode #17 of Blog Your Way to a Business Profit I talked about the 5 Reasons Why You Should Use Images in Your Blog Post.

1. Visually Appealing

A picture is worth a thousand words”.  By adding an image to your blog post it makes it seem more informational and makes your content look visually appealing.

2. Increased Search Engine Optimization

Images also help you grab lots of traffic from image search engines. But for this to work, you might need to optimize a few things like the Alt text and image description.  Always describe the image for those with visual disabilities and because the “Google Bots” can only read words not images.

3. Stops the Scroll and Increase the Shares

Humans have the attention span that less of a Goldfish which is about 7 seconds and we love bright shiny objects, we love visual content.

Not only will having images in your blog post stop the scroll, it will encourage readers to share your content on their social media networks, it also helps you to drive more traffic from social media sites.

Tip: Make sure your images are of high-quality because no user wants to make their social media feed look ugly and you don’t want to share ugly images!

4. Keeps Readers on Your Site Longer

When you use an image within your article, it helps to make the post look longer. There may not be a lot of words but by adding in an image or two it will help your post look more informative and will keep readers on your site longer.
