I recently had an opportunity to interview Cat Meyers on Out & About with Antionette podcast.

Cat Meyers is a daughter, sister, aunt, best friend and hopeless romantic. She is also an Attorney and Associate Professor of Instruction in the Criminal Justice Department at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

Cat is also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

When she’s not writing, Cat enjoys the beach and has made it a personal mission to visit as many beaches as she can around the world. She also loves painting, sketching, baking and playing tennis. She has self-published seven novels: Boy Toy, Ghetto Princess, The Christmas Coach, Fear of Falling…and Falling Again and The Never Mind Trilogy.

Before Cat published her first book, she would often feel anxious before writing, yet still not fully understanding her “gift” until an incident  occurred in her apartment building.

A  tenant who was moving out had left a box of “How To” books on writing and the box was labeled “FREE to anyone who will give these books a good home”, Cat scooped up the box. took them home and have not stopped writing since.

Cat has also written several screenplays, and actually moved to LA to market them, however, none of them have been produced but she didn’t give up.  Back in Delaware, Cat learned about self-publishing after stumbling across the link at the bottom of the Amazon website.

Author Catrese Meyers

Cat has self-published 7 novels and is currently working on a new book, Fear of Falling…and Falling Again which will be an audiobook narrated by actress/singer A’rese Emokpag.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Cat worked as a therapist. She was a Social Worker, getting her Masters in Counseling because she always valued the importance of mental health and has several YouTube videos on how to do therapeutic writing.

She believes in therapy and has challenged herself to just write from the heart and from previous experiences and not worry about what others may or may not say.

With this attitude she feels as though she has learned more about herself with the writing of her current book.   Cat wants to leave a legacy that will help people push through barriers to find themselves on the other side.
