Claymont Community Center is excited to announce their 5th Annual C3 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 30, 2023. The Community Center’s 5k is helping the community support youth families and seniors. This year’s race time will start at 8:30 a.m. followed by an Awards Ceremony for participants at 10:00 a.m.
Participants are encouraged to arrive at 7:00 a.m. to register and retrieve the race packet prior to the event. Claymont Community Center has been an anchor in the community for 48 years. Their programs benefit people across the lifespan from youth to seniors. They offer food assistance, GED and language classes, after-school and summer camp programs, and a senior center.
They address the community’s most critical needs by helping people navigate social services. The facility offers an array of recreational and social activities as well. Proceeds from the event will fund programming and services, nutrition support education, field trips, and physical fitness activities.
According to Allison David, CEO “Many people were first introduced to us during the pandemic when we were a COVID testing site. We encourage everyone to join us for this event to learn more about what we are doing now. People come to the Center for various reasons and there is something for everyone! Having emerged from the pandemic, we know people crave social connections. Our C3 5K is a great way for the community to come together for a fun, family event”
