Hope Mill Inc. Sending Helicopters to Help Asheville
NEWARK, Del. – Hope Mill Inc. is helping to rescue, donate, and make supply drops in the west North Carolina area impacted by Hurricane Helene by raising money for their GoFundMe. They are working with independent pilots with helicopters out of Avery County Airport to deliver supplies, food, water, medication, and more.
Hurricane Helene, a powerful category 4 hurricane, has traveled across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and more, leaving residents without food, water, necessary medications, and electricity.
Colleges and universities in Asheville, North Carolina, are forced to suspend classes for the safety of students and faculty. Many students have lost personal belongings and are without contact with their families. Hope Mill Inc. is raising money to send helicopters to residents in Asheville, including universities, to get students the help and resources they need.
“Any donations will go towards funds needed for supplies, air fuel, medical, food, and anything else that becomes needed for the community in need,” said Kevin Garrison, organizer of the fundraiser. “Our mission is clear – continue to deliver on the promises we have made and continue to find the community members in need of support. We got this – we can make a difference!”
University of Delaware college students in COMM409: Public Relations Campaign Planning are working to raise awareness of the efforts of Hope Mill Inc. and their GoFundMe page. To learn more about their efforts, visit our Instagram page and Hope Mill Inc.’s GoFundMe page.
