Hello, DelBlogger family!
As summer’s golden days slowly start to fade, do you find yourself wanting just one more lazy afternoon in the sun, or another sweet bite of homemade peach cobbler? If so, you’re not alone! On the latest episode of the Boomers and Beyond Podcast, we explore this beautiful, bittersweet time of year and how, as boomers and beyond, we can welcome the transition from summer to fall with open arms and joyful hearts.
Reflecting on Summer’s Gifts
Growing up, Labor Day signaled the end of summer fun and the start of a new school year. But now, this season means so much more. It’s less about routines set by others and more about embracing new possibilities on our own terms!
Whether you traveled to see family, perfected your peach cobbler recipe, or simply enjoyed a quiet moment on the porch, this summer has been filled with memories big and small. I loved sharing about my recent family vacation to the Dominican Republic—a week of sunshine reminded me that connection and adventure are always within reach, no matter our age.

A Time to Pause and Appreciate
Now, as we stand on the doorstep of fall, let’s pause—not just to mark the end of summer, but to celebrate everything we’ve accomplished and enjoyed. Contrary to what we might have believed when we were younger, our best seasons aren’t behind us. In fact, each change of season brings new opportunities to set our own schedule, try new things, and reconnect with what brings us joy.
Looking Forward to a Fresh Start
Fall is the season of harvest, a time to gather what we’ve sown—be it new habits, friendships, or passions. Margeret from Dover, a listener, shared how making lists of summer highlights and fall dreams helped her shift from sadness to excitement. What an inspiring reminder that it’s all in our perspective!
So, as we put away our summer hats and pull out cozy sweaters, ask yourself: What’s next? Is it joining a book club, taking a yoga class, or even starting that memoir you’ve always talked about? The choice is yours, and there’s no better time than now to begin.
