Unlocking The Power of AI for Your Podcast

Do you use AI or CHAT GPT to power up your podcast?

It may seem like we are talking a lot about AI and Chat GPT but Artificial Intelligence isn’t new, we’ve been talking to Alexa and Siri for many many years. However since 2022 there has been an uptick and more interest in AI, including CHATGPT as content creators are really using it.

We are loving it but it’s not without controversy, did you know that there are currently copyright lawsuits with regards to plagiarism but AI is just a tool, another tool to be added to your marketing toolkit, and like with any tool, you have to use it in a way that works best for you.   You wouldn’t use a butter knife as a screwdriver would you??

But once again, you can literally use AI to power up your podcast as long as it’s done with caution and consideration, and so, that’s what I talked about in this episode of the Delaware Blogger Podcast.

If you’re a new podcaster, and haven’t ordered a copy of my Podcasting Your Purpose Resource Guide, one of the topics that is covered is scheduling your content, what you want to talk about week after week, month after month, year after year.

Researching, Planning & Creating

So once you’ve chosen your topic and narrowed your niche, there is going to come a time that you are going to have a brain freeze so AI/Chat GPT can really help you out.  AI can help with the researching, planning and creating your podcast episodes. It can help write the script which is definitely time consuming.

You don’t have to be an expert in your subject, topic or niche, so AI can help you with research, whether it’s travel, entertainment, inspiration, motivation, you can ask for not only topics, but ask for titles and social media posts for promotion.

So once you get these scripts for the topics, you know what you want to talk about, you have to make sure to review and edit it.  You will be presenting the content in your own voice, in your mannerism because no one you’re not an artificial device, you are human, and AI is learning from you.

You still want to relate to your listeners in a human way!  Relate to your viewers in a human way! So you can use AI to research, plan and create the content, but still present in a human way.  You can also use AI to create GIFs, Audiograms and Cover Art.

If you conduct interviews on your podcast as I do on Out & About with Antionette, you can ask CHAT GPT to provide questions based upon your guests.

So suppose you’re interviewing an entertainer and instead of spending hours and hours on Google, Yahoo or Bing, you can simply ask CHAT GPT or JasperAI from your phone or on your laptop.  You can ask insightful questions more than just the basic ones heard on previous podcast interviews … .ask about their books or movies if they are an author or actor.

You can also write an accompanying blog post, as I do on DelBlogger, so you can ask AI something like write a 700 word script on abc…and it will write the blog post, title and social media posts for each platform.  As a matter of fact, when I schedule content on Promo Republic I can type in a few words and then choose the tone, length, hashtags, questions, emotions and type in a few words and choose to have it regenerate into more interesting content.  I am not sure if that’s available on Buffer or Hootsuite, but am sure if not now, it will be.

And then you can take that audio which I’m doing right now and you can upload it to sites like the Descript . The simplicity of uploading the audio of your podcast allows you to transcribe it for your blog post or LinkedIn or Medium articles.

Use AI to optimize audio for SEO

Upload the audio, the MP3 and read the script, edit out the umms and aahs for SEO readability.  you can clean it up, have AI grab quotes for social media posts, you can have scripts using Otter AI if you use Zoom.

I also use Live Transcribe on my Android phone, I just put my phone next to my laptop after recording and it transcribes my audio, I then copy it into a doc and print it out to clean it up, makes my life so much better as a podcaster who has been doing it since 2017 as this is not for the faint of heart,

So although The Power of AI for your podcast can make it easier, don’t get it twisted, you still have to put the work in. Automating these tasks can save you time and energy, allowing you to focus on creating great content.

Promotion and Marketing Your Podcast

Using AI to research, plan, create, and transcribe content is great, but getting heard is the most important aspect of being a podcast host.

You can leverage AI for Content Creation: AI can be used to create content for your podcast. For example, AI can be used to generate topics for your podcast, create audio clips, and even generate entire episodes. This can help you create more engaging content and keep your listeners engaged.

It can also be used to optimize your podcast for SEO: AI can be used to optimize your podcast for SEO. AI can analyze your podcast content and suggest keywords and phrases that will help your podcast rank higher in search engine results. This can help you reach a wider audience and increase your podcast’s visibility.

AI can be used to gain insights into your audience. AI can analyze your podcast’s data and provide insights into who is listening to your podcast, what topics they are interested in, and how they are engaging with your content. This can help you create more targeted content and better understand your audience and provide information about what areas need improvement. This can help you make informed decisions about your podcast and ensure that you are creating content that resonates with your audience.

Using AI safely

As the AI bots are learning and growing, there will still be some inaccuracies, so always double check the factual details of any results before you build them into your script. It’s absolutely imperative that you are proactive and take time to review, fact check and edit any content produced by AI tools, ensuring generated content is accurate, original and written in your tone of voice.

AI is here to stay

Please learn more about AI before you say, it will take over the world or it’s not for me, because it can really help you unlock the power for your podcast.  The more we learn and grow the more it will learn and grow, so don’t let others create a narrative for you.

  1. So I see you might know a little sumptin’ sumptin’ Keith Sweat style about what you’re mentioning in this blog post. Hmm…. 🙂

Hope you’re starting off your Monday the right way Mrs. Blake (smile) 🙂

As an avid podcast enthusiast and technology enthusiast, I found your article on unlocking the power of AI for podcasts extremely intriguing, and I wanted to share my thoughts on the matter.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the realm of podcasting holds immense potential to revolutionize the industry, both for podcast creators and listeners. The ability to leverage AI tools and techniques can not only streamline production processes but also enhance the overall listening experience.

One aspect that particularly caught my attention is the application of AI in automating transcription. Transcribing podcast episodes manually can be a time-consuming and tedious task, but with AI-powered transcription tools, the process becomes much more efficient. These tools not only save time but also enable podcasters to reach a broader audience by providing searchable, accessible, and inclusive content.

Additionally, AI can play a significant role in enhancing the personalization and recommendation aspects of podcasts. With AI algorithms analyzing listening patterns and preferences, podcast platforms can suggest tailored content to individual listeners, ultimately improving engagement and retention. This level of personalization can contribute to creating a more immersive and captivating podcasting experience.

Another area where AI can make a significant impact is in improving content creation itself. By utilizing natural language processing and generation algorithms, AI can assist podcasters in generating show notes, episode summaries, and even helping with scriptwriting. These tools can act as valuable assistants, aiding in content creation and freeing up time for creators to focus on other critical aspects of their shows.

However, it’s important to note that while AI can undoubtedly enhance podcasting, it should not replace the human touch. The genuine connection and passion that podcasters bring to their shows cannot be replicated by AI alone. The true power lies in leveraging AI as a tool to augment creativity and efficiency, rather than viewing it as a substitute.

Overall, your article highlights the vast possibilities that AI brings to the podcasting landscape. Embracing this technology has the potential to unlock new horizons for creators, enhance accessibility, and provide listeners with an immersive and personalized experience. As the podcasting industry continues to evolve, it’s crucial for creators to explore and embrace the transformative potential of AI in order to stay ahead in this rapidly changing landscape.

Thank you for shedding light on this fascinating topic, and I eagerly look forward to witnessing the continued integration of AI in podcasting.

    In your corner supporting you,

    Drewry from Flatbush Brooklyn 🙂

    1. Yes, I truly appreciate your comments and analysis of this post and I totally agree, AI will never replace human connection and interaction nor should it be used for such.
