Beating Boomer Bias with a Podcast

Are you over 50 and feeling overwhelmed by the world of podcasting? Discover simple tips to get started with just your smartphone on this week’s episode of the Boomers and Beyond Podcast.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my latest episode of the Boomers and Beyond podcast. In episode 10, I shared some great information about “Beating Boomer Bias with a Podcast.”

This episode was an absolute goldmine of podcasting wisdom emphasizing the power of sharing our mission and vision through podcasting.   I shared practical advice for individuals over 50 looking to dive into podcasting. Rest assured the journey isn’t as daunting as it might seem and I encourage you to get comfortable with your smartphones, the ultimate tool for content creation.

The next big takeaway was choosing a free hosting platform. There are many hosting platforms like Spotify for Podcasters which is a fantastic starting point for anyone looking to share their stories without breaking the bank as well as Buzzsprout which is who I use.  Remember, fancy equipment isn’t a necessity – just sign up and start sharing your stories with the world. It’s as easy as that!

Another key nugget from the episode was the importance of planning out your episodes in advance. I stressed the value of our life experiences and stories, urging you to embrace your passions, whether it’s parenting advice, travel tales, or simple home hacks. The possibilities truly are endless, and I encourage you all to share your unique experiences with the world.

Keep in mind that the podcasting world isn’t just reserved for the young crowd. Our stories are valuable and the world is eager to hear them, regardless of our age.

Now, I’d love to hear from you:

  1. Are you over 50 and thinking about starting your own podcast? What topic lights you up inside?
  2. What do you believe makes a podcast title and cover art stand out and draw listeners in?
  3. How have you seen storytelling strengthen bonds between different generations, and how would you translate that into a podcast setting?
