Veronica is a native of Somerset, New Jersey, who now resides in Smyrna, Delaware and previously served in the United States Air Force in active duty from 1982 to 1987 as a non-commissioned officer.
Because of Veronica’s overwhelming dedication to her Veteran community, she was asked by the Department of Veteran Affairs, Women’s History, to serve on the Women Veterans: Her Story is our History posters which are featured in every VA Hospital across the nation representing the state of New York.
Veronica currently works at Zip Code Wilmington as the Alumni Volunteer Liaison. She continues to spread the word to transitioning Military and Veterans about community support, namely the VA’s Veterans Technology Education (VET TEC) scholarship and housing assistance program which supports veterans attending the nonprofit company’s 12-week courses in Software Development or Data Engineering & Analytics.
This year’s Women’s History Month was made even more special because not only do women make up 22% of the combat forces more women veterans are transitioning out of the military at higher rates than ever before in the history of the military.
As a matter of fact, we now have the first African-American Base Commander of the Navy which is incredible to see how many military women are actually in charge of everything that moves across the air, land and sea here in the United States.

Zip Code Wilmington also received a 4.5 million dollar grant from the state of Delaware for stipends and scholarships for the next three years to serve our veteran population which is definitely a game-changer for many to compete nationally, globally and internationally.
