In the latest episode of the Out & About with Antionette podcast, I sat down with the incredible Alondra Anderson-Hardin, founder of Women Beyond Measures. Alondra’s journey, marked by grit, faith, and a commitment to service, began in the Bronx projects and now flourishes in Delaware, where she uplifts and empowers women to move from simply surviving to truly thriving.
Alondra’s upbringing was a lesson in resilience. She describes her childhood growing up in poverty, living in crowded conditions with her family, and facing challenges like bullying and societal expectations around beauty and worth. “At one point it was to where all of us were sleeping in one room. It was eight of us in one room,” she recounts. Despite such obstacles, her family’s support never wavered.
Alondra’s frank discussion of her mental health struggles, ranging from anxiety stemming from her environment to the impact of not growing up in a faith-based home, sets the foundation for her empathy and dedication to serving others. Finding faith in 2018 became a catalyst for positive transformation in her life, giving her a sense of purpose and drive to make a difference.
Turning Pain into Purpose: The Birth of Women Beyond Measures
Becoming a mother intensified Alondra’s understanding of the unique hardships women face, especially during and after pregnancy. She openly shares her battle with intense postpartum depression and the emotional toll of new motherhood. “No one prepares you for the changes of motherhood,” she stresses, highlighting gaps in support systems for mothers, especially women of color.
Women Beyond Measures was born from this experience. Initially intended for mothers, feedback quickly revealed a broader need. “People were like, hey, I’m not a mom, but I need these services,” Alondra explains. In 2024, her organization expanded into a nonprofit, reaching all women in Delaware who seek support, understanding, and a sense of belonging.

Women Beyond Measures: A Lifeline for Delaware Women
At its core, Women Beyond Measures is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to helping women overcome life’s toughest seasons, regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds. The organization’s mission is clear: help women move from “surviving to thriving”—emotionally, spiritually, and practically.
Alondra outlines the main programs:
- Thrive: Focuses on personal development through case management, financial literacy, mental health counseling, and support groups.
- Action Ed: Offers college and career readiness, connecting women with HR professionals for resume building, mock interviews, and job placements. College-bound women also receive mentorship during their first year.
- Mother’s Breakthrough: Supports mothers with case management, resources for childcare, mental health counseling, and faith support including Bible study.
Underlying all of this is the belief in community and sisterhood. “We really want to touch every area… to give you that one-stop where you don’t have to go to ten different organizations. You can come right here,” Alondra says. Women Beyond Measures is not just an organization, but a movement to help women feel seen, heard, and valued.

The Power of Support and Asking for Help
One recurring theme throughout the conversation is the importance of asking for help. Alondra and Antionette challenge the stigma that seeking help is a sign of weakness. On the contrary, “The strength is in asking for help,” Alondra affirms.
By creating a safe space for women to be vulnerable, admit their struggles, and access resources without judgment, Women Beyond Measures is breaking cycles of silence and shame. The organization revolves around compassion, community, and the understanding that every woman, no matter her past, is worthy of support and a chance to flourish.
Inspiring the Next Generation—And Herself
Alondra’s journey continues to evolve. She was recently recognized as a “She’s On Her Way Awardee,” and is running for Mrs. Delaware 2026. Her candid sharing of her achievements and ongoing battles with imposter syndrome provides encouragement to anyone feeling unseen or unqualified: “God can use every broken piece to build something beautiful.”
Alondra’s story, her faith, and her passion for empowering others are a testament to what’s possible when we support one another. As Antionette says, “You are making such an impact… you are definitely making an impact.”
