Last month I had an opportunity to speak to students enrolled in Busines Administration classes at Delaware State University. I spoke to them about my journey into entrepreneurship as well as the importance of their digital footprint.
The invitation came from Dr. Carrie Awadzi who had reached out to me to inquire if I would be interested in speaking to her students. If you have been following me for awhile then you know that my first love is education and training and have been doing so for most of my adult life.
In addition to being an Adjunct Instructor at Delaware Technical Community College teaching Blogging Basics classes I also love speaking to our future leaders whether they are enrolled in middle and high schools or on college campuses.
However, this weekend, I will be in Washington DC, as a BloggerWeek Presenter and Podcaster with Roland Martin. Being part of the 2019 BloggerWeek Unconference is definitely a privilege and an honor and I’m looking forward to speaking to fellow bloggers, podcasters and content creators on a much larger stage!
Yesterday, we received an email that Roland Martin is an official Special Guest of the Blogger Week UnConference! On Saturday, October 12, 2019, attendees will participate in a live discussion with Roland Martin about his new daily digital show #RolandMartinUnfiltered and the importance of independent media.
This email made me smile because if you remember, he was also the Commencement speaker at Bowie State University‘s graduating class in May.
I do hope that I have an opportunity to speak with him to remind him about that day and how our son, Malik stomped the stage when receiving his degree – remember this?
If not, I know that I will learn more about indendent journalism and get tips on operating a successful YouTube channel.
Let’s Chat > Have you ever had an opportunity to speak on a large stage with others in your field?
I’m looking forward to your presentation. I’ll be attending the conference and so excited to get a wealth of knowledge.
Thank you, I too am looking forward to meeting you and am excited for the weekend as well – see you soon!
It was wonderful meeting you albeit shortly, however, I do hope that we stay connected so that we can meet and greet again soon!
It is great to see bloggers doing so well. Well done.
Yes, this was a great event and I met a lot of wonderful women.
Congratulations in advance!! I hope you have a great time and make a video to share with us back home. 😉
Yes, I made several clips including those of my presentation which I am turning into a reel for Friday’s post.
Thanks for sharing this on Traffic Jam Weekend, Antionette! Love the video of Malik accepting his degree. My husband is an Omega man too!
Thank you, I actually had an opportunity to show it to Mr. Martin and he remembered Malik. So glad you understand, because most Omega men won’t miss a chance to “stomp the yard” no matter how old they are!
